The early 2000s <\/span>were a time of rapid growth for ICF membership. During this time, <\/span>we<\/span> made key updates to <\/span>our<\/span> management, standards, and credentials to support the expanding community. This period also saw the launch of <\/span>our<\/span> first international award, celebrating organizations using coaching to make a meaningful impact.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2000<\/span> – <\/span>Global Membership<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

By<\/span> 2000, <\/span>ICF<\/span>\u2019s vision of becoming a global organization was <\/span>fully <\/span>realized. <\/span>M<\/span>embership <\/span>soured to over<\/span> 3,2<\/span>0<\/span>0 members<\/span> from diverse regions<\/span> including<\/span> Australia, Asia<\/span>,<\/span> Europe<\/span>, and North America<\/span>. <\/span>W<\/span>e held our first international<\/span> a<\/span>nnual <\/span>c<\/span>onference <\/span>outside the USA, <\/span>in <\/span>Vancouver, <\/span>British Columbia, <\/span>Canada<\/span> \u2014<\/span> reflecting ICF\u2019s growing international presence<\/span> and its commitment to <\/span>representing<\/span> the worldwide coaching community<\/span>.<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2005<\/span> –<\/span> Rapid Growth and New Beginnings<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The early 2000s marked a period of growth for ICF. By 2005, we had 9,041 members globally, nearly tripling its size in just five years. To support our expanding membership, ICF transitioned to its present management company with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. This was a major turning point in our history, ushering in a new era of support and resources to grow.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, ICF revised membership levels and credential categories to raise professional standards. And realizing the impact coaching can have within organizations, we presented our first international award to recognize businesses and organizations with impactful coaching programs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
